Grow Your Transportation Business With S.W.A.N. | Insurance Industry Update - August 2026
S.W.A.N. News Welcome,

The annual NEMTAC Transform conference this month represented our fifth year attending this premiere industry gathering. As always, we were able to tap the thought leadership of top professionals as we continually seek resources and best practices to bring to our fleet customers.

In addition, we were able to add to our collection of video interviews with experts who generously shared their insights. These will be added to our library that's easily accessible on our YouTube channel.

In the cross-border world, two organizations have created an important partnership. They are the Mexicali Economic Development Council (Mexicali EDC) and the Greater Yuma Economic Development Corporation to boost binational industrial competitiveness, expand regional supply chains, and enhance economic ties across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Mexicali spans 180+ foreign companies manufacturing goods for export and 1,000 diverse businesses. The Greater Yuma Arizona region encompasses four states and two countries, serving a population of over 1.5 million people.

A new training resource is available for drivers called "Safe Haul." It was developed by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Transportation Research and Education for Driver Safety program at the University of California, San Diego.

It's a free, 90-minute, self-paced training covering essential U.S. commercial vehicle regulations and safety best practices for CMV drivers operating in the United States.

Topics include:
• Licensing Requirements
• CMV Regulations & Compliance
• Hours of Service (HOS) & Fatigue
• Speed Management & Risk Reduction
• Distracted Driving Prevention

We invite you to read on in this issue where you'll also find timely reports on our DRIVE program and the Highway Certified Insurance Agencies network S.W.A.N. has been accepted into and how it can empower the growth of your business.

Until next month, we appreciate your being part of our S.W.A.N. community. We welcome your input on how we can support you as you grow your business. As always, we're here to help you Sleep Well At Night. Simply reply to this email or contact us online by clicking here.

Thank you,

S.W.A.N. News E in DRIVE Is for Education To Optimization Operations

This month, we bring to a close our letter-by-letter reveal of what DRIVE stands for. The DRIVE initiative was created to help fleets be well prepared to position themselves in the best light when insurance renewal time rolls around.

E represents Education. It's the key to so many aspects of a well-run fleet. In short, education is why safer fleets outperform unsafe ones, both operationally and financially. Our goal is to provide the resources that owners, operators and drivers need on topics like:

• How to navigate inspections and roadside stops
• How safety scores impact contracts and insurance pricing
• What carriers look for in best-in-class fleets
• How to build a culture drivers want to stay in

Running a safer fleet has a range of important benefits. For example, you can reduce operational volatility, keep drivers longer, get access to favorable insurance markets, and achieve higher rankings with your customers.

With DRIVE, we'll work hand-in-hand with you in a structured, 90-day process to manage risk, optimize operations and obtain the best coverage.

We're happy to share more about the potential impact of this program for your fleet. Learn more at the link below and contact us when you're ready to discuss.

S.W.A.N. News New Thought Leader Videos from NEMTAC Transform Conference

The conference is now behind us. As always it was an informative and invigorating experience with industry experts and our peers as the preeminent NEMT event of the year.

Attendees span the full gamut of professionals in the industry including brokers, providers, payers, regulators and technology partners who are there to explore the trends, tools and innovations shaping the future of healthcare transportation.

Once again this year, our team recorded a new set of short-form video interviews at our booth with NEMT industry thought leaders like yourself. We'll be adding those to our existing library on our YouTube channel. Make sure to take a look for insights from these highly knowledgeable individuals and how they can help you optimize and grow your business.

Another major highlight of the show was receiving honors as NEMTAC's Exhibitor of the Year! It was presented to the S.W.A.N. team in recognition of our booth where we filmed short-form content with NEMT thought leaders at the event.

Thank you to everyone who visited us at the show. Stay tuned for those short form clips from our next round of NEMT Thought Leaders videos and we'll see you at next year's NEMTAC!

S.W.A.N. News Certified Insurance Agency Nod Brings Benefits for All Parties

S.W.A.N. is very pleased to be a member of the Highway Certified Network. We're honored to be in the company of a very select group of agencies.

Acceptance into the program requires meeting standards for accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data. The goal is to bring shared accountability, transparency and enforceable standards across the brokered freight ecosystem.

Benefits in working with a Highway Certified Insurance Agency like S.W.A.N. can include faster approvals, fewer compliance delays, and a stronger position when brokers are deciding where to place a load.

Brokers often look forward to stronger, more reliable insurance signals at the point of carrier selection, reduced exposure to fraud and stale insurance data, and the ability to incorporate certification into compliance workflows.

We invite you to read about the network and contact Cross-Border Director Kevin Mealey to learn how you and your business can benefit and grow your bottom line from solutions like these.
